Anti-Bullying Week 12-16th November 2018

This week the theme has been ‘Choose Respect’ which mirrors well our value for this month. The children have been discussing how we show respect and how we receive it. Each class has also done some work for display with some really powerful messages.

They have watched short film clips and discussed what bullying looks like. Some children drew pictures at the beginning of the week showing what they think a bully looks like. Children then discussed similarities and differences and came to the conclusion that bullies look just like normal people.

Children have also discussed why people bully others. They have used empathy to use drama and put themselves in the shoes of the bully.

On Thursday children learned about Cyber bullying with the theme 'Stop, Speak, Support' and what to do if they think they are being bullied online.

For further information on bullying and how to support your child you can look on the parents pages of the Anti - bullying alliance at www.anti-bullyingalliance.org.uk  or from the CBBC website https://www.bbc.co.uk/cbbc/curations/anti-bullying-week

Information about cyber bullying can be found from the alliance.
