Cherry Y6 English and Art

We are reading the novel, ‘Some Places More Than Others’, by Renee Watson. It is about a girl, Amara, who is trying to find out about her family, her roots. We took a section of a chapter then carefully selected vocabulary to represent the feelings and sentiments of ‘roots’ to create a blackout poem.

As part of our Location! Location! Location topic we looked at some Mexican landscape paintings. We then created our own and used acrylic paint, using only primary colours to mix and make different colours.
